Day 27: Spelunking and Hershey with a side note of Day 26

Gads! How could I forget! We took an Amish buggy ride yesterday! It was a fantastic way to learn about an entirely different culture. We learned that there is a lot more wiggle room for the niceties of life then was presented in the movies. There are cell phones and TV watching vacations. Less farming and more internet sales. Solar panels and generators. Milking machines and hired cars. It was truly eye opening. We talked to an age gap of 40 years or so and saw the differing perspectives of each. No photos were taken out of respect.
Anyways…  Day 27!
We left to go to the Indian Echo Caverns to spelunk but first we made a quick stop at Three Mile Island.

Indian Echo Caverns were opened as a tourist spot in 1929 although they were likely used by the Susquehannock while they occupied the area.

Then it was time for lunch. A local diner with some delicious Greek food, which apparently is super common.

After lunch we went to visit Chocolate World which was so commercialized it was disappointing.

  1. Whew, lots of new posts! So many cool photos! I'm definitely going to have to visit some of the places you've been talking about. And I *definitely* need to eat some of that food haha. Looks like you're still having fun...? :-)

  2. We are! It's been so busy it's been a lot of catching up as it slows down for a bit. We'll prolly go through this after Florida too.
