Day 20: Independence Day!

Happy 4th!!!

Unlike the typical 4th, in which we watch the cleverly named Independence Day (starring Will Smith), we celebrated in an epic way.

We woke up and saw Uncle Bob’s van that he is renovating. It is pretty much awesome.

-forgive the pictures I hadn’t had my coffee yet-

This morning we also got to reunite with some family, John and Maeve, and meet a newer addition, Marcie.  She has the most mellow personality ever. The boys fell in love with her instantly, but really who wouldn’t?

And then the Atlantic! It was everything that Johnny dreamed it would be!

Jude couldn’t stop running from the waves – it is just too natural

Then it was time for dinner and to warm up a tad – before jumping right back in! A food shot Jason! It’s a Italian hero with Capicola and other delicious meats, as well as jalapenos and banana peppers. You had to be there!

Jude chose to warm up with a little sand…

We then had a beautiful sunset to prepare us for the fireworks.

They were beautiful and enormous – the pictures don’t even do them justice.

  1. Beautiful! I'm talking of course about how graceful James looks while eating that sandwich. ;) Looks delicious!

I've still never been in the Atlantic. As I suspected, it looks very wet.

It's sure fun following along on your trip! Thanks for keeping the posts coming.

    1. It's rather deceptive - actually quite dry! ;)

  2. Oooohhh... ahhhhh.... We started a half dozen fires this year with our biggest shell... wind was wrong and the firemen were watching the show until one of our crew told them, "look behind you!" Lol
