Day 15: It’s so Erie...

Travel totals for Day 15 are included in day 16.
We left from Sandusky and headed towards Niagara Falls. As we came closer to Pennsylvania we thought we’d see about a good picnic spot. Erie, Pennsylvania had Presque Isle State Park not far from it. So we headed there.
It was an amazing stop on the way! The boys got to splash in a “Great” lake and we had a stop to eat as well.

First we discovered the sand

There was the indication that there was water to play in.

So I looked at my feet… and the sand.

We had to literally pull them out.

It’s been a bit of a whirlwind the last few days. On Tuesday we got up and drove into a Jellystone an hour or so out of Chicago. We decided to take a day off and chill in the campground there. No pictures, no schedules, nothing to do except have fun. The boys swam, played games with the staff, swam, played candy bingo, swam, and played with mom and dad.

We got up the next day and headed into Chicago. In Chicago we went to the Field Museum.

We broke for a Chicago Dog lunch overlooking the lake. They know how to make a hot dog for sure!

We paid extra for the Jurassic World experience. The boys all had a great time. There were even props from the movie!

Jude was scared to death but had a great time seeing the enormous life-like dinosaurs. We went to get the Chicago Deep Dish and then headed home.

So ended the day… but not really.

We decided to go on to a halfway point to get closer to Cedarpoint. What we forgot to check for was the time zones… We pulled in to the Amish Cabin and RV park at 1:30 after fighting traffic. Then woke up and started again. Its a good thing they have coffee out here!

There were horse and buggy warning signs all over the place and the variety of buggies was impressive. I had no idea they had so many versions. Some were tanks on carriage wheels!

At this point the kids were nuts, they were so excited to go the Cedarpoint, “The Rollercoaster Capital of the World!”

and then there was me…

sigh… In all honesty it was scary…
