Memorial Day Weekend: Part Final

Day 3:

After a family bike ride over to the day use area we packed up to go. It was a fun trip and it definitely let us know where we needed to improve for the long one (it’s getting close – squee!).

We saw some interesting graffiti on a rock wall on the way down.

We stopped for an early dinner at a little roadside drive-in. They did not disappoint! It was so yummy!

Out last stop was at a viewpoint looking over a dam. Made for a good leg stretch!

Now we are home and preparing for the trip of our lifetimes! We are looking forward to it all!

Memorial Day Weekend: Part 2

Day 2:

We found ourselves out in the busiest National Park on Sunday. Crater Lake was packed and beautiful!

On the way back from the park we found a Civil War reenactment being taken down. We met a very kind blacksmith woman who let the boys pump her Civil War-era bellows.

Memorial Weekend: 3 Days of Fun!

Day 1:
Technically our weekend was 3 and a half days but the first leg of the trip was last minute packing and driving almost 5 hours to crashing into bed. We arrived safely and unpacked the car and the RV. Francis (RV) towed Frederick (Honda) without any issues. Frederick was decked out with Cars eyes for the occasion.

We woke up the next day and enjoyed the sunshine and got the bikes going. I’m sure the boys managed to loop the campground near a billion times. They definitely slept well the whole weekend. We stayed at Collier Memorial State Park in Oregon near Chiloquin, it was beautiful and staffed with some very thorough people. Made for a very safe park.

Also run by the park was an amazing free museum. Collier Logging Museum is giant the information given online don’t give it any justice.

Jude met some volunteer mechanics working on some classic Caterpillars. They asked Jude what he thought they needed, Jude made sure they knew he was just watching! Also the ponderosa pine made for some fun and painful pinecone fights!
