Day 5: Paint by Numbers

Ah, Yellowstone, how can you smell so delicious? The air was perfumed with sage and other florals, and underneath it all was the acrid sulfur of the volcanic nature of the place.

We first headed north from the west entrance to make it up to the stagecoach ride that we had reserved. On the way we saw bear, elk, ducks, and bald eagles.

And then the stage arrived!

Then we went to the Mammoth Hot Springs.

Johnny desperately wanted to see the paint pots, so we made that the final stop of the evening.

On the way back we happened to look over and there was a bison with her calf nursing. Such a nice way to end the day!
