3 boys and a Mom (and Dad too, I guess...): Day 8: Cowboy songs and stuff

We woke up in Buffalo, WY and had oatmeal and leftovers for breakfast. We even slept in a bit!

It was time to get back on the road though and as we packed up, the boys played on the playground. We had a few stops to get diesel and a few groceries and then we went on our way towards Mt. Rushmore. We were planning on getting there in time to go to a chuck wagon meal and watch the night show on the faces of the presidents.

Our plans changed though when we realized we could add an hour and be able to see Devils Tower.

An amazing feature of the earth, Devils Tower is actually the innards of a volcano!

Now what we didn’t realize was that we had that extra hour in Devils Tower but that did not actually take into account the travel time…

We looked at the GPS and our Chuck Wagon Show was going to start without us! With our pedal to the metal-ish we called ahead and warned them that we had 5 minutes left on the clock for time but we would make it. We did just that we pulled in and as James parked the motorhome the boys and I ran to make the wagons. James later got a ride from one of the staff to the meal.

With dinner came some cowboy songs and comedy

After dinner we checked out the Fun Zone at the KOA resort. There was a jump pillow, playground, splash pad, water slide, pool, basketball, mini golf, volleyball, ping pong, dance party, giant chess and checkers, and much more. The kids went nuts!
