I got up at 6:30 on Day 2 and took a look around the campground with mom. It was gorgeous! The birds were all out trolling for breakfast. Geese, seagulls, and pelicans all gave us stink eyes for this morning walk. After we got back we all ate breakfast and then headed to the 2 playgrounds found at Hood Park. After Jimmy nearly vomited from spinning on the tire swing we went to the river to skip rocks and pester the geese (kindly of course).
Not to ruin another perfect day the clouds just peaked in and out on the drive breaking up the monotony of the blue sky. James seemed to feel much more comfortable behind the wheel making for a very comfortable ride for all of us.
We stopped at a cute little restaurant called Cow Creek Mercantile. Outside they had some really amazing metalwork forming a stagecoach. Inside was a tchotchke store with a large selection of Christmas clearance. But the other half of the store was for eating and boy did we. I had a South Philly Cheese-steak and it had slow-cooked roast beef hunks covered in cheese with lightly saute'd green bell peppers and onions and mushrooms. So so tasty. Highly recommended. The milkshakes were nice and satisfying as well.
Johnny with a giant chicken for Grandma Penny!
In Post Falls, ID we found a nice little hiking park and playground. They had the history of electric power for the area and the dam there has been powering the area since 1906. The playground was nice but a little small for the boys. They had fun anyways.
This bridge was built in 1926. Beautiful and very much of the time period.
So glad they know how to have a good pine cone war!
Duck...
Duck...
Goose!
We found Silverwood Theme Park and pulled in for the night. The parking was a little tight but James did a great job. l think we will sleep very well tonight.
